My Way of Living + training

The 2 AM bloggers social club

It’s 2am, you toss, and turn.

Sleep, that which had just so recently claimed your dreams is now as elusive as a free shopping spree for designer shoes. Gone, poof like a cloud of fog suddenly hit by sunlight. Thoughts creep in, desperate for attention, poking, prodding, chasing those little sleeps away from where they lay hidden in corners, all curled up like a cat.

Marching band

Not fair, not nice, go back to sleep you mutter, not now. Blogging, blogging, blogging it chants. Help, there’s a marching band in my head

Drums boom loudly, percussion bagpipe scream, instruments bang, rattle, clang. Who can sleep through this noise, it’s 2 am.
Clowns run rampant in your brain. Ugh… shiver at the thought, it only serves to wake you more. It happens to many bloggers, the sleeplessness, the mind circles. The why can’t I remember what it was that sounded so brilliant in the middle of the night, and now I have forgotten it the morning after syndrome. There might be a need for a club, made up of us #Social Bloggers, and #Naked Niche bloggers who cannot sleep. The ones who dream of blog posts, think up topics, write and plan our best, most eloquently written gems in the middle of the night.

Pink clown waving

Only to waken in the morning, groggy, sleep deprived, and blog post-less. What happened to those thoughts overnight, where did they go? All those perfectly described paragraphs of thoughts, and brilliant ideas? Just thinking of getting out of bed, placing your bare feet on the cold hard floor. Walking down to the computer, turning it on in the dark, during the desperate hours acts as a deterrent to productivity in the middle of the night. Gone in the blink of a eye.

Maybe that’s why we need to create a early morning blogger’s social club. A phone line, staffed by those who cannot sleep either. A gathering place to lend, borrow, discuss, and most of all help in remembering just what it was we were talking about. No seriously?

What about a hot line, where you just dial 1-800-Ican’t-sleep. “This thought may be recorded for training purposes, and for future use” “Please hold”… sounds of a marching band playing in the background, tinny music for those who cannot sleep, no soothing acoustic guitar lulls you until you have transcribed your blog post. “Hello, Blogging hot line, this is your best blogging friend speaking, [the one that you have never met in person, but spilled your deepest secrets to over the internet, knowing that although miles, and countries might separate you, you are still great friends], how can I help you?” “Hey, best bloggy friend, I didn’t know you were working tonight, how are you?” “Oh sleepless, just like you, so what have you got for me tonight?” You tell her, “I’ve got this great idea for a blog post, and it’s circling my mind like water down the drain.”
She chuckles on the other end, she’s been there all too many times herself. “Spill, bloggy friend, I’ve got the record button hit,” she tells you, “go right ahead.”

clowns with horns

And they take care of it all.

So you explain. Elaborate, write and rewrite your words until they shine as deep as the morning sun. Until the yawns start to take over your tired voice. You never even noticed the marching band music changing to something more soothing. Lutes, and harps pluck away in the background. The post is secure, safe, transcribed, and ready for you to pick up in the morning. After all, overnight service is their specialty. 1-800-I-cant-sleep. Give them a call.
