Jewels of the Autumn trees
Snowy barns

OK, I’m back.
Wow, was that one fun.
Not at all.
But I got the windows update on my computer all figured out.
All fixed, everything is fine now.
You know that feeling when you are so close to getting it figured out, and it happens all over again?
Abraham Lincoln is quoted as saying:
We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.
Don’t you love that?
I know, it has almost nothing to do with this post, but it might have something to do with computers.

Snowy fence

Gotta tell you, in this season of gloomier days, I live for the light, those few hours of bright, light, when the sun comes out it’s like a different world up here. I’m almost looking forward to the snow, since the white covering will reflect more light into the house. Of course, then we have to shovel it, drive in it, and wade through it, freeze… there’s a rose bush in there somewhere.
It’s the gloomy days… they’re dark, November is a hard month to adjust to, time changes suck, and when the leaves fall, the orangey glow disappears. Days are short, nights are long everyone ends up going to bed earlier. After a while you ease into it, the threat of snow becomes old hat, and dark days can be dispelled by bright lights.

Snowy fields

And then you start to dream of cookies, and baking, and Christmas, and taking photos outside with all that extra light the snow is going to bring. Sometimes a slight change in the weather warms it up outside just enough that you can feel your fingers through the layers of mitts, and sweaters enough to actually enjoy yourself. There see, a rose.
It’s all about perception.

Snowy trees

By this time the leaves are gone, and snow is imminent, we have learned to fall in love again with the stark black branches as they reach through the sky towards the much too early setting sun.
There is beauty in the birds nests perched in the bare branches up high, they are are the jewels of the Autumn trees.
See rosebush, no thorns. It’s all in your perception. Jane @ Muddy Boot Dreams
I wanted to bring up two things that are kind of important. Could you please check to make sure that you have the updated feed for Muddy Boot Dreams in your blog reader. If you are using the feed from before September [when I redirected my blog from dreams to My Way of Living, and it was lost for ages] it might not be showing up properly in your blog reader. I’ve heard of it happening to other blogs, so if you could do a quick check that would be great.
And if you use a Google+ profile for your blog, could you please, please make sure that you are not a no reply blogger, and that you do have a link on your G+ profile to your blog. It’s getting really difficult to return a comment to bloggers who are not connected by a link. We are all busy, and only have a short while to visit, so make it easier on us please.
I would really appreciate this, and so will other bloggers.
