It’s our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend and for once the weather isn’t being a turkey… Up here in the Okanagan it’s sunny, and so warm that we are in T-shirts. And that’s nothing to gobble at. You know how you have those not so good days, and all it takes to wipe them away is a good sleep, then they are nothing but a vague memory, toss in some lovely weather, [I can’t believe how warm] sunny, and time spent with family and things feel better. Today we will be having Thanksgiving dinner, at our new house… that was one of our Muddy Boot Dreams when we lived on the coast, and now it’s happening.
Life changes so fast, take the moments that are given to you, and cherish them. Yesterday we wandered through the Farmer’s market, and visited little specialty shops that are popping up in town, there is a flavoured olive oil, and balsamic vinegar store that is amazing.
My Mom has been saying she was going up to my Sister’s farm to find the turkey roaster pan that she bought at a garage sale for me a year ago. She kept it in the barn, [don’t ask] and said that she washed it out this summer, now it can’t be found. So during a long weekend where everyone else is thinking turkey also, we had to track down a roaster at the hardware store. We live in a small town, and to go to the almost big city it’s around a 1/2 hour drive, so you make do, or do without if you are found wanting. Thank goodness we found one, because my husband got his snow tires at the almost big city, and he said it was a zoo.
Yes, snow tires, but we all know the weather can change on a icicle, or a snowflake, and then you can’t get a appointment. Far side of Fifty has a Snow daze winner, they have had a snowfall on October 11th, congrats to the winner. Sorry Far Side, [I’m glad it was you, not us] it looks like you will have to wait a little longer to find out who wins the Snow daze contest here.
The Goose Creek Candle Company give away is still on, make sure to enter, get your comment in so you have a chance to win that candle. Here’s to celebrating Thanksgiving, I wish you a happy one, and lots of turkey, and leftover stuffing, it’s always better the next day. Doing the turkey trot…
