Life isn’t fair, and it seems that spring doesn’t play fair either. We ate our Easter dinner out on the back porch yesterday… in the warm sunshine, with the birds fluttering down from the trees to drop by the feeder. I feel guilty telling you this if your lawn is still covered in the nasty white stuff… but take heart.
It’s going to cool down slightly in the middle of the week here, and that will show us… right? Well it will dip a few degrees and then… back up to the high teens, low twenties [that’s Celsius my friends].
Life, and spring, it’s not fair. I’m um… have a spring tan, just kidding, well not really. I probably could get one if I wanted. We’ve had one of those unbelievable weekends where it was never ending sunshine, birdsong, neighbours emerging from hibernation, radios blaring, kids playing, dogs barking, motorcycles roaring through the streets. Spring, in the Okanagan, there are even teenagers wearing flip flops and shorts.
It’s warm, and the plants are on the verge of bursting… three weeks ago we had snow covered ground. They do it quick here. And that’s no April Fools joke. I certainly hope that if you don’t yet have spring, it will arrive soon where you live. You deserve it. Until then, take heart.spring is on it’s way for the have’s and the have not’s.
